  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional for extra sweetness)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 tablespoons whole milk, as needed for consistency
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine lukewarm milk and yeast; let it froth (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt; create a well and add the yeast mixture, butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix until dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth; let rise in a greased bowl for 1-1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Prepare the cheesecake filling by mixing cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, flour, and sour cream until smooth.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter over it.
  6. Add cheesecake filling and sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  7. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 sections; let rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before icing with a mixture of cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk.
  10. Top with sliced strawberries.
