  • 1 medium white onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 80ml apple vinegar
  • 500g tomato passata
  • 240ml beef stock
  • Fresh basil and dried oregano
  • Sugar and grated parmesan
  • 200g spaghetti
  • 6 crusty white rolls
  • Butter, parsley, garlic paste
  • 200g shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until golden, then add minced garlic.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in tomato puree.
  3. Pour in apple vinegar; let it reduce slightly. Then add tomato passata, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, herbs, sugar, and seasonings. Simmer for about 25 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Hollow out the rolls while mixing butter with garlic paste and parsley.
  5. Cook spaghetti until al dente and combine with the sauce.
  6. Fill each roll with spaghetti mixture and top with mozzarella.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the rolls are crisp and cheese is melted.
