  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground sausage with caramelized onions, thyme, salt, and pepper. Optionally add grated cheese and Dijon mustard.
