  • 5 medium apples, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 3/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned whole rolled oats
  • 1 and 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tbsp salted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, melt butter and combine it with flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
  4. Press about two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan; layer the apple mixture on top.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining crumble over the apples.
  6. Bake for 38 to 45 minutes until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
