  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Soak panko breadcrumbs in milk until fully absorbed.
  3. Sauté diced onions in melted butter until fragrant, then add minced garlic.
  4. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, soaked breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and sautéed onions and garlic until just combined.
  5. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet and score the top lightly.
  6. Bake for about 40 minutes.
  7. While baking, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard for the topping. After the initial bake time, spread the sauce over the meatloaf and return to the oven for an additional 30-35 minutes until fully cooked.
