  • 2 lbs (900 grams) apples (Gala, Fuji, Cortland, or McIntosh)
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp (25 grams) brown sugar
  • 4 inches (55 grams) ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the apples without peeling them.
  2. Combine apples, sliced ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, and water in an Instant Pot or stock pot.
  3. For Instant Pot: Cook on high pressure for 18 minutes. For stovetop: Boil then simmer until apples are soft.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher.
  5. Once cooled, store in an airtight container in the fridge or serve immediately.
