  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer four sheets of phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each with melted butter.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the phyllo base.
  4. Top with four more sheets of phyllo, brushing each with butter and lightly scoring the top.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown. Cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling with warmed honey and sprinkling toasted sesame seeds on top.
