  • 4 – 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 packets rapid-rise yeast
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup softened butter (for icing)
  • 1 cup hazelnut spread
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • Milk (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine warm water and butter until melted.
  4. Add the egg to the dry ingredients, then pour in the warm water mixture. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  5. Gradually add more flour until the dough holds together but remains slightly sticky. Knead on a floured surface for about 4-6 minutes until smooth.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
  8. Mix cinnamon and sugar; sprinkle over the buttered dough.
  9. Roll tightly from one side and cut into rolls.
  10. Place rolls in greased pan cut-side down and let rise again for about an hour.
  11. Bake for about 25-35 minutes until golden brown.
  12. While baking, prepare icing by beating butter until fluffy; gradually add powdered sugar, hazelnut spread, salt, and milk to reach desired consistency.
  13. Spread icing over warm rolls before serving.
